Do you have a passion for teaching and inspiring young minds? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for our part-time Improv Comedy Instructor position! Now hiring for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
We are a growing Jacksonville based company looking for enthusiastic, creative, and fun-loving individuals who can teach improv comedy skills and concepts to children aged 8 to 14. You will be responsible for teaching pre-prepared engaging and interactive one hour lessons in Improv Comedy that foster confidence, creativity, and collaboration among your students.
To apply for this position, you must have:
- A major or minor in education, theatre or a related field. Position is also flexible part-time teaching employment for a current college student.
- Experience and interest in working with children in an educational setting. This position is a great chance to build teaching/performance skills.
- An interest in improv comedy, theater, or performing arts (Prior training or experience in Improv Comedy is a plus, but is not a prerequisite for this position)
- A flexible schedule and availability to work on selected weekday afternoons between 2pm - 4:30pm
- Reliable transportation and a willingness to commute to area schools in Duval and St. Johns Counties
- A positive and encouraging attitude and a sense of humor

Improv Comedy Instructor Christopher Schiavo has over ten years experience studying and performing improv comedy in Los Angeles, including at The Groundlings Comedy Theatre, training ground to such comic performers as Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman, and Melissa McCarthy. Chris performed in a long-form improv group in Los Angeles alongside Eric Stonestreet, star of TV’s “Modern Family”. Chris has also performed and coached comedy groups at Improv Olympic West in Hollywood.
Here in Jacksonville, Chris has taught improv comedy all over the area including The University of North Florida, First Coast Technical College, The Bolles School, The Episcopal School of Jacksonville, and Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
